Mr Charles E. Odiase is an advanced clinical specialist pharmacist in Obesity and diabetes. He holds masters degrees in clinical pharmacy(hospital) and Diabetes, the latter being undertaken at the world renowned Leicestershire diabetes centre (LDC). He also holds a postgraduate training diploma in advanced urgent primary care and independent prescribing, and is part of the Leicestershire EDEN training team offering diabetes training to pharmacists in and around Leicester.
Over the years he has gained clinical experiences as a hospital, community, and primary care pharmacist. He has also supported pharmacists training and development as an undergraduate student mentor for the bradford university school of pharmacy, and also as a postgraduate diploma tutor for the Bath university school of pharmacy. He is presently employed as part of the Derbyshire NHS England vanguard team to play an advanced pharmacist role as a multidisciplinary community provider (MCP).
His career goal is to empower pharmacists with the skills and knowledge to be able to develop community services especially in the area of obesity and diabetes preventive and curative management, that are safe, cost-effective and reproducible across the UK. He is an advocate of pharmacists being at the centre and forefront of UK healthcare delivery.
